make sense?

if two negatives make a positive why cant two wrongs make a right?

  1. Two wrongs can't make a right because you are starting with a bad premise. If you start off bad, you can't end of good. Wrong is wrong. You can try to fix it, you can try to right the wrong, but two wrongs can never make a right.

  2. two wrongs can't make a right because its just going to be a continued cycle of crime or smething bad happening. But i can say that 2 rights make a left!!

  3. It is just not possible, like Clarence said. If you try to justify something wrong with another wrong thing, it cant be right. There needs to be room to change, and if you are defending something with wrong, the end result cant be anything but wrong. Fighting fire with fire...you'll just get a bigger stronger fire.

  4. Because when we think about two negative things becoming a postive - we are thinking about it logically. We have learned -1 - (-5) =+4.

However - if we are making wrong actions then adding more negative stuff adds more drama and problems.

  6. i agree with clarence you cant steal something and than expect not to get in trouble if you get caught. But i also do think that there could be time were you do something wrong and end up doing something good..i'm not very sure on what to say about this question can you explain more?

  7. This is an intriguing question, most specifically in regards to war. Consider what's going on in your books, what's going on in America currently, and things that have happened in your past. How often is this "double negative" rule actually used? Have you ever justified it?

Yesterday's conversation of "guilty by association" went into "innocent until proven guilty" and how that might be the judicial rule of thumb in regards to crime, but is socially opposite. In this regard, the social implication is that "two wrongs do not make a write" but the governmental and judicial station is one that employs this idea quite frequently. What does that say about the question? The human condition? What can be done?

  8. by you saying two negatives makes a positive, thats math and not reality... if you keep making the wrong decisions and its a cycle... youll will never be right...

  10. The problem with this question is that difference in topics. two negatives making a positive is scientific, two wrongs creating a right is a moral concern.

There is no certainty in emoitional or moral situations. two wrongs can very well lead to the motivation of a right. But with math and science things are certain, there are facts, 1 plu 1 will always equal two, every time. The chemical makeup H2O will always create water.

But the lack of certainty in morals and emotions does not allow a FOR SURE outcome in any combination of the two.

  12. I don't really think mathamatics work as a reference for our moral sensibility, but to answer the question, I feel that ends don't justify means. Yes, it could be put into a context that challenges that standard but by definition of my personal belief I feel that wrongdoings can't be twisted into fair action because of their very nature. Following these actions would mean to stoop to the levels received and only further supporting their lowly doings. Did their action stem from a concept of justice? In my opinion there are no dualities in wrongs, it only regenerates and spawns, reaching even good souls, and creates a system that doesn't reach ends, just new beginnings of the phrase.

  13. But doesn't this happen every day? There's justification all over the place for it. Retaliatory action in war is the very essence of a wrong in reaction to a wrong in order to make something right. You all seem so adamantly against this notion yet the people who run your government utilize this action daily. Think about waterboarding and interrogation techniques. Think about pollution and mining and harvesting oil. If you think all these things are morally wrong, what will you do?

  14. Kyrin, this is kind of a weak question. This doesn't really assist us in reading the text, connecting ideas, or developing an essay subject. Can you use this question to direct our thinking?
