If the whole is equal to the sum of its parts than our "whole" cannot be reached until our parts are gathered and acknowledged. This blog will act as a collection, a gallery that records our “parts and particles” (our particulars) in an effort to connect the dots; to endlessly connect the dots.
i feel that this war has not only hurt us emotionally but financially as well. we didnt have the money to start this war in the first place, and for the decision that was made for going into Iraq and Afghanistan, we are in major debt from more borrowing thatn spending. THe longer we stay the more trouble we get ourselves into. I cannot stress more that i disaprove of this war seeing how my father was there for 2 years.
I am ashamed to say that I am extremely uneducated on this subject, and hope further comments will spark my interest to look look deeper into it. I am not sure why a major component to our country has not caught my attention enough to learn more about it. Maybe it is because I am not a "fighter" more or a helper? if that makes any sense to anyone other than just making pure sense in MY mind....
I hate discussing war. It always starts arguments due to everyones different views about it.
I think the WAR IN IRAQ IS DUMB!
I think that they should be focusing on more country bound issues versus battles and protection for the iran people and such. I really don't know too much about the war - it doesnt interest me.
I think I speak for everyone when I say the war is a waste of time. We no longer even know what we are fighting about. If we are going to kill mass numbers of people, we should know why!
War on Terror? what the hell is that? terror is never ending as long as there are people on this earth there will be terror. I believe a reaction to 9/11 was necessary, but Iran didn't attack us, Afganistan didn't attack us, Pakistan didn't attack us, Iraq didn't attack us. Although some Pakistani and afgan people were associated with the terrorist attack doesnt give us the right to invade an entire country. We are blaming a country for what a number of their personal individuals have done.
Even if I did agree with the war in the first place, which I don't, we don't have the money to fight a war anymore, were trillions in debt i dont even know how we are paying for anything as it is. I guess the federal reserve just prints up more cash continuing to inflate the dollar, but that is an entirely different issue.
War is never a good thing but sometimes is the only option, this is not one of those times. We have been in this war longer than we were involved with WW2, I feel the motives for each are completely different which makes me question the discretion used behind whether or not war was the only way.
Again tho the U.S. people wanted to take action, they wanted something to be done about it and Bush had to deliver He may have done the right thing by invading Afganistan but Iraq had done nothing wrong, we claim to have proof that they were funding Al-Qaeda, but is that illegal? hitler paid henry ford to build NAZI tank engines because thats capitalism and thats perfectly fine. Iraq has the right to spend their money as they wish. If we are america the defender of the free peoples why are we attacking a country freely spending their money? Maybe America needs to re-think our principles and reconsider where we came from and what we are about?
I think that if clebs. would donante like 1000 dollars we probably could have them out of there so fast but everyone only thinks about things that will better them..
celebs have nothig to do with donating, they should not have to spend their money on a war theat they do not support or start. It is about the way the U.S. budgets the money. We spend and spend and spend, we dont try to resort to anything else in order to make money.
i feel that the war is really stupid. there isnt even a clear reason why there is a war in iraq. i think the reason is that the goverment wanted to go over there to steal something, and now they're too deep all that mess. so now they cant get the troops out, because they been spending too much to keep troops there.now alot of solders are loseing there lives, because of what the goverment have caused.
why should celebs have to pay for mistakes our country has made? better question, those soldiers have signed up for the military, there is no draft right now. they willingly are going over there with the possibility of dying. celebs have earned there money by taking advantage of our media and of us. nothing illegal about that.
I feel that the war in Iraq is a waste of time and money because we can't even get things right in America and we are sorting out other problems. We have trouble with the Gulf Oil Spill, teenage violence (like how we see in True Notebooks).
Who says "congress" doesn't have the funding to remove the troops from Iraq? For instance, the Katrina disaster reveals that congress didn't really care about what happened to the victims they just wanted to protect themselves and not let people know how the money was spent.
In True Notebooks, the prisoners are not allowed the rights of good food, a "real" education, and whenever there is violence they use homemade weapons, they are not allowed real weapons. They probably are not able to be informed, therefore they may not care about the war.
I don't have a backing for any technical facets of the whole thing but I do take a clear stand which, is against the war. Not only as a moral issue but for the expendable way of the event, so much is being thrown at the wayside. And I'm not going to go on some pouty rant on American imperealism, but instituting democracy? Conflictions lie through and through, culturally, politically, religiously, etc etc.
If I can get a clear reason for why we're still over there I might be able to respond to this better. I think reaons why are troops are still there are constantly changing, and a strong opinion can't be formed if I don't know all the true facts.
Theres a lot of potentially debate to this question, but it's something i'm just something im unsure about.
But, I do think it's very odd that we've been in this war for nine years now and a clear reason to why our troops are still over there are unknown to me.
i dont even know why america is still in the war... i think they are sending soilders out for no reason thats necessary... funding definitely sucks and its unforunate because you are forced to sign up for drafting and if you do get drafted you have to go.... the whole system is screwed up
I dont have any thoughts. I dont know anything about this.

ReplyDeleteI don't watch the news,so I don't really know about this situation. I choose to not focus on the news, because the new is never good news.

ReplyDeleteI never thought about it like that but i agree with you Jayvon that is a really good point..
ReplyDeleteWho are "they" and what war are you referring to?

I don't really know what I think about this because I am a little confused on the entire topic and I would like to know what Brittany thinks about it.
ReplyDeleteNevermind I see you answer about the question.
