If the whole is equal to the sum of its parts than our "whole" cannot be reached until our parts are gathered and acknowledged. This blog will act as a collection, a gallery that records our “parts and particles” (our particulars) in an effort to connect the dots; to endlessly connect the dots.
I've been thinking and thinking but I'm still stuck on what to write this paper on. What are some ideas that you have about what to write the paper on?
Has there been a repeated theme or topic that you have written about, or do you know what that is and your looking for something new? What interests you most? Also what book are you reading?
think about your life, think about your experiences, think about things you love, think about things you hate, think about something you stand for, think about something you stand up against, think about the apocalypse, think about religion, wars, politics and nature. Now think about True Notebooks. then pick the thoughts you liked and mash them together into one idea.
Domenic and Clarencie give good advice. Abby's series of questions are vital to thinking this through. I am glad you are using the blog to discuss this, but try to use it outside of the class session too to help you generate ideas.
You all have topics. You've all written 8 responses and a topic or many topics reside in those responses. It is your responsibility to identify what interests you, what you want to know more about, and what you feel will be useful to study in a sustained 4-5 page paper.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what your topic should be, but I always find it easier to write about something that interest you and something you know about.
